Abstract
This article compares the decentralization of education in Colombia with the phenomenon in other Latin American countries, in order to detect the characteristics that coincide with the countries of the region, and also seeks to contextualize some relevant aspects of the education system Colombia, which still has several flaws that are also the product of the inequitable policies promoted by decentralization, in which resources are assigned differently to the regions, which is done without considering the great complexity of social, economic and economic difficulties. policies that municipalities have and how to effectively manage resources to serve the population.
