Abstract
ABSTRACT
The native language Nasa Yuwe is a fundamental element of the cultural identity of the Nasa people. However, it is currently at risk of extinction. The issue is evident in an institution in the municipality of Toribio, where the number of speakers of the native language Nasa Yuwe has decreased in recent decades, particularly among children and adolescents. The present research aims to develop a didactic proposal for strengthening the native language Nasa Yuwe in ninth-grade students of an educational institution in Toribio, Cauca.
This project adopts a qualitative approach, adhering to the methodology of participatory action research and drawing on Urie Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory of human development as its foundation. The research findings conclude that the didactic proposal was successful in achieving its objectives. It focused on implementing various practical strategies in the sessions conducted with the students. Dynamic activities, games, and songs in the native language, accompanied by musical instruments and educational materials, were employed to guide the topics.
The research results suggest that such proposals are effective in strengthening native languages.
